Panoramas at sea...

This panorama showing Niʻihau of the coast of Kaua'i makes me think of the end to a long journey. I'm reading The Life of Pi right now and I can imagine the sea and sky feeling this big to Pi as he came within sight of land at last.

This image came out quite well considering that it is stitched together from 3 hand held exposures taken from a small boat in rolling seas. Shoot wide to leave yourself plenty of room to crop in situations like this! I always look into the shaft of light on the water to see if there is something there. Pi's lifeboat perhaps.
